The Best Body Oils & When I Like Use Them

one little vice beauty blog

Body oils are one of those products that I couldn't go without. I moisturise my body every day but I very rarely reach for anything other than body oils. I love how quick and convenient it is to apply a quick-absorbing oil after my morning or evening shower, and they never fail to leave my skin feeling and looking so much better than before. If you're interested in trying a body oil but don't know where to start - or maybe you just want some inspiration on what to try next - then today's line-up might be of interest. I've shared all the body oils that I've got stashed in my bathroom (most of which I've repurchased at least once, because they really are the best I've come across) and I've broken them down into different categories based on when I use them. I hope you enjoy today's post and do let me know in the comments if you're also a fan of body oils!

When I want something affordable...
Fushi Sweet Almond (£9.00/100ml) & Fractionated Coconut Oil (£7.50/100ml)
A 100ml bottle of body oil will last me approximately one month as I religiously apply it to my skin every time that I have a shower. I find that body oils make a massive improvement to the appearance and texture of my skin, but like many body products I do get through them quickly. If you know that you're pretty liberal with your body care and want an affordable, but still effective, body oil then I'd highly recommend Fushi's natural oils. They offer natural and organic products at affordable prices, meaning that you don't have to compromise on quality even if you're on a tighter budget. I very highly recommend sweet almond oil, which I find leaves my skin hydrated for longer than many other oils. However, I've also really enjoyed using Fushi's Fractionated Coconut Oil which is liquid rather than solid at room temperature, making it much easier to apply. I've purchased a number of Fushi's oils and haven't ever been disappointed with their quality or effectiveness.

When I want long lasting results...
Mio Skincare are a brand with whom I'm fortunate enough to work and in the past they've very kindly sent me a number of products to trial from their range. Their body oil is an incredible product as I find that it makes an immediate, and incredibly long lasting, improvement to my skin. If you're in the market for an effective body care product that you don't need to reach for everyday to get great results then I'd highly recommend The Activist Body Oil. I think you could use this far less often than the Fushi body oils and get the same results, so you're paying more but saving yourself time and effort. With products in this higher price range I do often take longer to consider a repurchase, but now that I've seen the effective results that this body oil offers I would be happy to spend the money.

When I want to pretend it's summer...
Sometimes you don't just want to moisturise, sometimes you want to indulge too. Earlier this year I was very kindly sent a bottle of Roger & Gallet's Fleur de Figuier Nourishing Oil and I became obsessed with it. Not only do I love the results that it offers but the Fleur de Figuier fragrance is one of my all-time favourites as it has such a warming and happy sort of scent. I recently repurchased a bottle in my Black Friday Haul and I was really happy to have this back in my life again. When I want to indulge in a pick-me-up this is the perfect beauty product to reach for. Again, this is in the same higher price range as the Mio Skincare body oil, but because of it's effective results and beautiful fragrance I'm happy to repurchase it.

When I want to feel sexier...
Nuxe Huile Prodigeuse (£17.00/50ml)
This is a new body oil in my collection (another Black Friday Haul purchase) but I've instantly fallen in love with its musky fragrance. This winter I've been loving richer, deeper and ever-so-slightly masculine fragrances, and this body oil works wonderfully underneath them. As a moisturiser I'm also really impressed with it's light but hydrating formula, which absorbs into my skin very quickly. I don't know if I could wear this sort of fragranced body oil year-round, but in these cooler months I'm really enjoying reaching for it.

When I want something indulgent and organic...

This body oil is my most recent addition (and this is my first time using it, unlike the other oils in my line up) and I've been really impressed. It's incredibly nourishing and a little oil goes a very long way, leaving me with noticeably softer feeling and healthier looking skin. Grown Alchemist are one of those beauty brands that I've wanted to try for a long time and I'm happy to report that their products are just as good as I'd hoped that they would be. If you're looking for something organic with a luxury appeal then I'd definitely recommend trying this body oil.

The Body Oils I'd Like To Try Next:
Caudalie Divine Oil (£17.50/50ml)
I've got two body oils on my wish list; a high-end option from Caudalie and a more affordable product from Burt's Bees. Caudalie's Divine Oil smells incredible and would go into a similar sort of category as the Nuxe and Roger & Gallet body oils, because I'd probably use it for a mood-boost as much as a moisturiser. Whereas the Burt's Bees Body Oil - aimed towards pregnant women - sounds as though it's going to offer active benefits for the skin, as it's been designed to combat stretch marks by improving skin elasticity. I'd definitely like to try both of these body oils in the future, they sound (and smell) like very promising options.
