One Lush Line Up

onelittlevice beauty blog: Lush product collection

As much as I enjoy trying Lush's vast array of products, I am often put off by their price tag. I don't know what it is, I'm willing to part with an unseemly amount of case for certain brands but with Lush I'm always a little bit reluctant. That being said, most of the time, when I try Lush products I'm always suitably impressed - and sometimes I'm even surprised that things aren't more expensive. I think that on the whole their bath and body products are pretty overpriced, whilst some of their skincare represents great value for money. I could rave about Lush's face masks and cleansers until the cows came home, but you're not really here to read about that. Today I'm going to walk you through the Lush products that I'm currently housing in my bathroom, and I'll let you know which ones are hits and which ones are misses.

Let's start off with a good old repurchase. I spotted a couple of pots of Lush's Bûche de Noël Face and Body Cleanser (LE) in Lush's Oxford Street store in the middle of January, and I couldn't help but pick one up. I really like Lush's cleansers and I've always thought that it was a shame that Bûche de Noël is a limited edition product as it's such a lovely skincare product. Coming in at around £6.00 I think that it's a really good Lush purchase, and if you've missed out on it then I'd recommend checking out Let The Good Times Roll (£6.95) or Angels on Bare Skin (£6.95).

The other skincare product that I've been using pretty regularly is Lush's Cranberry Face Mask (LE) and I'm gutted that this is a limited edition product as it's by far my favourite Lush face mask. I've tried most of Lush's masks and they're all pretty nice, especially the new Rosey Cheeks Fresh Face Mask which is fantastic for those with sensitive skin. What Lush's Cranberry Face Mask offers, which their other masks don't, is a revitalising radiance boost that also seems to gently cleanse the skin without drying it out too much. I like the different effects offered by Lush's masks, but the Cranberry Face Mask seemed gentle enough to use really regularly (perfect for masks like these which have a short shelf life) and it never failed to leave my skin looking amazing. If they bring this back next year then I'll be repurchasing it in a heartbeat!

onelittlevice beauty blog: Lavender shampoo Lush

Last year I tried my first Lush shampoo bar and really loved how long it lasted. This year I picked up a new one to try, Lush's Lullaby Shampoo Bar (£5.75). Lullaby has a really gorgeous lavender fragrance, as well as a glittery coating that's quite eye-catching on a store shelf. Like the other shampoo bar that I tried last year, Lullaby foams up quite a lot when used and creates a thick lather that makes washing your hair really quick and easy. Due to inclusion of SLS, I do find Lullaby ever so slightly drying on my hair but I also quite like how it leaves my hair feeling thoroughly clean after use. I definitely like Lullaby much more than I thought I would, but it's definitely better for those with slightly oily hair as it doesn't feel like it would offer much for dry hair.

one little vice beauty blog: Rose Jam, Yuzu and Cocoa and Snow Fairy

In my shower I've currently housing three different Lush Shower Gels; Lush Rose Jam (LE), Lush Snow Fairy (LE) and Lush Yuzu and Cocoa (£4.95). I'm going to say right now that I think that they're all just a little bit too expensive for what they are, and for the same amount of money I think you're better off buying something similar from a brand like Korres. However, that being said, I am a total sucker for the aesthetic of Lush's packaging (I know right, what a terrible excuse) and I do sometimes get tempted by their limited edition or newly released fragrances. Of the three shower gels I own, the only one that I'll probably repurchase is Rose Jam - there's just something more-ish about it's fragrance, and I haven't found anything like it anywhere else. I do, however, quite like the thicker consistency of Lush's new shower creams and, despite the inflated prices, I am considering trying The Comforter (£4.95) sometime in the next couple of months.

T
he final product in my bathroom has turned out to be a surprising favourite, and that is Lush's T'eo Solid Deodorant (£4.95). I haven't tried any of Lush's solid deodorants before but I've been seriously impressed with T'eo. I have really sensitive skin on my underarm area (thanks to some poorly located eczema) and it's very easily irritated by aeorsal, and even some roll-on, deodorants. I've generally really enjoyed using Dr. Organic's Manuka Honey Deodorant but I was interesting in trying something new. T'eo offers a much subtler scent than Dr. Organic's range, and I find it the least irritating product that I've used on my underarm area so far. It doesn't last in the same way that aerosol deodorants do, but if you're willing to reapply then you get a similar sense of freshness throughout the day. Personally, it suits my needs really well and I'd definitely repurchase it. However, I am now quite interested in trying more of Lush's solid deodorants as I'm sure there are other gems in the range.

  5. I agree that the shower gels are definitely overpriced, but they smell soooooo good! I'm using the American Cream conditioner at the moment, which smells like strawberry vanilla milkshake, yum. One of my all time favourites is the Comforter bubble bar xx
